 Bells are used to call worshippers to the church for a communal service, ( "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching"- Hebrews 10:25)



and to announce the fixed times of daily prayer, 


but "Now cell phones ring instead of bells; the sacred hill has almost disappeared."



"Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls," Jeremiah 6:16.

 




The sad part of that verse comes at the end, 





"But you said, 'We will not walk in it" and this is where you find society today, refusing to walk in the old paths, the good way....







May our hearts make visible in us the bells that reveal the sacred hill within...

On St Patrick's Day - of course, Fr Gabriel Harty is being held strong within our hearts. I remembered his love for Avoca, Ireland and the Meeting of the Waters (Rivers).   The Flowing together of two rivers is like the flowing together of love between two friends.   Because of Fr Gabriel and because of a dear friend who is battling some heavy illness issues, we decided to go to Carrollton, Kentucky. Kentucky doing it right...

Many years ago, Seraphim had a brief meeting with Mother Theresa. She said to him: "If you do suffering right you become  better,   if you don't do it right you become  bitter ."  Today I saw Kentucky doing it right.  'Americans working together' Yesterday Nazareth House Apostolate offered the humanitarian side of the ministry to those struggling from the tornado damage.  We sent supplies and financial aid through the channels that make it possible for direct help.   We allowed those who do this best to do what they do.  Today we did what we do best - Prayer.  It's what we do - walking the streets, areas of turmoil, through war zones in prayer.  We went to Mayfield for the Spiritual “search & rescue” —the bathing of the area in prayer.  Physically calling on the Name of Jesus in area of trouble.  We carried your prayers with us.
