Bells are used to call worshippers to the church for a communal service, ( " Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching"- Hebrews 10:25) and to announce the fixed times of daily prayer, but "Now cell phones ring instead of bells; the sacred hill has almost disappeared." "Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls," Jeremiah 6:16. The sad part of that verse comes at the end, "But you said, 'We will not walk in it" and this is where you find society today, refusing to walk in the old paths, the good way.... May our hearts make visible in us the bells that reveal the sacred hill within...
